“Having a uniform is a core tradition of Girl Guides that remains relevant today. It’s a way of showing that we’re a united, inclusive organization that all girls can join. Having a uniform provides a sense of pride and belonging for all members of Guiding.” – girlguides.ca

“Girls, parents and volunteers have told us they want a comfortable, stylish uniform designed to allow girls to participate in a range of activities, and one that’s good value. Members are welcome to wear any current or past uniform pieces to their Guiding activities.” – girlguides.ca

You can choose to purchase from thegirlguidestore.ca the current uniform, which includes:

T-shirt or Tunic

Tie – should be tied with a reef knot (right over left then left over right)

Badge sash and reef knot pin – Sash should lay over the right shoulder and pin at the bottom left

For pants/bottoms, girls can wear whatever they’re comfortable in for unit meetings. For guiding events we recommend a dark colour ie: black or blue – jeans are ok!

Hat – while not mandatory at all functions and meetings girls must have a hat for when it is required such as camp and outdoor events.
t-shirt and tunic

NOTE: The full uniform is not a requirement. Members only need a GGC shirt to participate and if you require financial assistance it is available to you – please talk to your unit Guider (Leader)
